Liyah Knight

An artist like LIYAH KNIGHT is a rare find.

The Sydney based songwriter and musician has stirred a new energy into the Australian music scene, effortlessly combining genres to create a unique sound that is truly her own.

Armed with a voice and sense of storytelling that is both intensely personal and yet immediately accessible to any listener, the 25 year old has emerged as a bright new voice that Australia is finally waking up and taking due notice of.

The release of Liyah’s debut EP NESTING in 2020 proved to be a beautiful and kinetic introduction: a stunning blend of Alternative R&B, Pop and folkish tones that anchored the record in a very earthy, grounded space of composition and arrangement.

NESTING featured Liyah’s breakout single ‘Tipsy’ - a track that propelled Liyah onto numerous ‘Ones To Watch’ lists, as well as drawing love from across DSPs, Triple J Unearthed and community radio.

The EP stood as an avenue for new fans to become acquainted with Liyah’s sound and for the artist, represented a chapter of self-discovery and artistry that was marked by thoughtful and honest songwriting. And what’s more, the NESTING EP - for all its depth and rich sounds - left threads of what was still to come from Liyah lingering.

With over one million streams of the project across all platforms, the NESTING project proved to be more than simply an introduction. Moreover, it was a statement that this was Liyah just getting started.

She returns this year with a brand new project in TRAVELLERS GUIDE - the next installment in a body of work that has shown how it’s continued to flourish already, with the recent release of single ‘Moon Baby’.

Based around Kelley and Conner’s Emotional Cycle of Change, the new project from Liyah Knight is a musical exploration that revolves around a narrative centred on discovering new sides to ourselves. Through it, Liyah opens herself up to being vulnerable on record and exploring love and the emotions new experiences can provoke.

Having won audiences over early, supporting the likes of Budjerah, Milan Ring and MAY-A; as well as making her Australian television debut on ABC’s The Set with Peking Duk, Liyah’s presence as a performer has already been marked out as an exciting one to watch.

And as her creative and personal journey continues to be navigated through some passionate and evocative music, the public is soon to get to know a side of Liyah Knight that has graduated to a newer and deeper level of self-understanding.
